About Rebecca
Meet Rebecca Aughton
“America’s Best Bra-Fitter”
Rebecca is the visionary founder of Bra-vo intimates, the largest bra-fitting shop in the mid-west.
Bra-vo intimates is fast becoming the #1 destination in the United States for the best in proper bra fitting services. Rebecca opened Bra~vo intimates in 2001 as the country was reeling from the trauma of 9/11. Her mission is, and has always been, simply to help women find the right size in the right bra for their personal shape. If you’ve ever worn a bra that wasn’t right for you, you’ll understand why women come from all over the country to get fitted by Rebecca and her expert staff.
It’s no wonder that Bra~vo intimates clients are some of the happiest women around.
Like many of her clients, Rebecca balances entrepreneurship with motherhood. This is not always an easy task but quite frankly, Rebecca has been preparing her entire life to be a success in the retail industry. Her journey to entrepreneurship started when she was in child living in suburban Detroit. Her parents owned a fabric store, so it was only destiny that Rebecca would be attracted to a retail-clothing career.
Rebecca’s Michigan’s Midwest values of education and hard work are the essence of who she is as a person.
Rebecca graduated from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, and embarked on a career in Fashion Merchandising where she immediately got invaluable knowledge and learned exceptional sales and marketing skills from the best in the world.
- Rebecca started in the cosmetics division for Chanel in Washington D.C. From here she moved up into the ready-to-wear division of Chanel as the Assistant Manager of the Washington D.C. Chanel Boutique.
- As word of her accomplishments spread throughout the retail fashion industry, Rebecca was recruited away by Silhouette/Hugo Boss to their management and train sales staff for all of the retail stores in the Washington D.C. area.
- Later Estee Lauder approached Rebecca to join their organization where she served as Account Executive for Estee Lauder in New York City.
As she climbed the ladder of success in the retail fashion industry, Rebecca learned more and more about the problems so many women have in finding a bra that fits.
In fact, Rebecca knew about this first-hand and, like many of us, had a drawer of ill-fitting bras to show it. Inspired to find a solution to this common problem that no one really talks about, she immersed herself in mastering the art of bra fitting – a journey that led her to the best bra-fitters in the United States and Europe.
- Rebecca was offered a position as the United States Sales Manager for Eveden where she was responsible for the growth and development of the company’s brands in the U.S. It was at Eveden that Rebecca learned all about the bra industry from the inside out and from the ground up. She worked closely with Eveden’s product management and design team learning the design of a bra from the design board up.
- At Eveden Rebecca learned from June Kenton, the owner of Rigby and Peller, custom bra-maker and fitter to royalty throughout the world. Rebecca perfected her skills of bra-fitting, working directly with June Kenton, the exclusive fitter to Elizabeth II, Queen of England.
- While in Europe, Rebecca added to her already extensive education and knowledge of the bra industry by spending time at a major lace manufacturing plant in the United Kingdom. Here she learned all about the leaver’s lace trade, everything that goes into lace making, and the importance of lace to bra design and fit.
Rebecca returned to her Midwest roots in Michigan – ready to share her values, her vision, and her expertise as America’s best bra-fitter.
Rebecca opened the doors of Bra~vo intimates on September, 14, 2001 in Royal Oak, Michigan, a trendy and down-to-earth northern suburb of Detroit. At Bra~vo, Rebecca has created an elegant yet comfortable atmosphere where her clients feel comfortable coming in and spending the time necessary to get the right bra.
While Bra~vo intimates is clearly home-base for Rebecca, she still travels regularly in search of the latest and most effective bra products. Her commitment to serving the special needs of her clients is unparalleled as she continues to expand on the uniqueness of Bra-vo intimates with innovative services such as post-surgical and special needs fitting, a breastfeeding salon with special rooms for women to learn to properly breastfeed, and properly use a breast pump.
Stop in at Bra~vo intimates and meet Rebecca Aughton in person or just give her a call. She’s not just the owner of a bra shop. She’s a woman who understands that life is always a little bit better when you’re wearing a bra that fits.
